OPTIMIZE YOUR RECOVERY!

Before the Treatment

At PRF Clinic, we believe that effective treatment extends beyond the time you spend in our clinic. By following our recommendations before and after treatment, you can significantly enhance your recovery process and overall well-being.

Whether you are preparing for treatment or recovering afterwards, our guidelines are designed to help you feel better and achieve the most effective and long-lasting results.

Preparing for treatment is an important step in ensuring excellent outcomes and restoring your comfort in a shorter period of time. Below are some key instructions that are recommended to follow prior to your visit.

RECOMMENDED EXAMINATIONS BEFORE PRF INJECTIONS:

-JOINTS: X-ray + Ultrasound, or MRI
-LIGAMENTS, TENDONS, MUSCLES: Ultrasound or MRI
-LAB TESTS: Complete blood count, Vitamin D3, Basic metabolic panel (BMP)

The platform datamed.lv provides doctors with quick and convenient access to the necessary examinations. During the consultation, the physician will assess whether a new X-ray is required and, if necessary, will issue a referral specifically tailored to your needs.

  • Eat Light Meals: Consume a light meal or snack a few hours before treatment to maintain energy levels, especially if undergoing physical rehabilitation or laser therapy.
  • Wear Comfortable Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated. This will help you relax and move comfortably during the procedure.
  • Stay Well-Hydrated (1.5–2L per Day): Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your treatment. Proper hydration supports essential bodily functions and enhances the effectiveness of PRF therapy. On average, a person should consume 30 ml of water per kilogram of body weight.

  • Avoid Anti-Inflammatory Medications: Do not take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as Ibuprofen, Aspirin) for two days before treatment, as these medications may interfere with the healing process.
In case of pain, you may use pain relievers such as Paracetamol or Ultracod.

There are two types of inflammation: physiological and pathological. Physiological inflammation promotes the regeneration of all types of tissues and healing processes. One of the unique features of the PRF method is its ability to stimulate this physiological inflammation.

Feel free to ask questions before your visit:

During the initial consultation, we will collect a detailed medical history regarding your health status. Do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have prior to seeing the doctor. We aim to ensure that your care is comprehensive and tailored specifically to you; therefore, clear communication is a priority on the path to successful treatment.

Follow the instructions:

To achieve the best possible results, please carefully adhere to the personalized guidelines and preparation instructions provided to you, in order to promote a faster recovery.

PROMOTE RECOVERY!

After the Procedure

Taking care of yourself after the procedure is as important as the treatment itself to ensure successful recovery and the best possible outcomes.

Here are recommendations following PRF injections:

during the first 2–3 days after the injection, allow time for rest and relaxation, reduce daily responsibilities to enable the body to recover and heal
avoid heat exposure, including saunas and baths, for 2 weeks
do not use anti-inflammatory medications, as they may diminish the desired effects of the PRF injections (pain relievers such as Paracetamol or Ultracod are allowed)
take Vitamin D daily!
(typically 8,000 IU per day, based on blood test results)

do not undergo facial massages for 3 weeks!
avoid heat exposure, including saunas and baths, for 2 weeks
(If you do attend, apply a cold, water-soaked towel as a compress on the face)
do not use anti-inflammatory medications, as they may reduce the desired effects of the PRF injections (pain relievers such as Paracetamol or Ultracod are allowed)
take Vitamin D daily!
(typically 8,000 IU per day, based on blood test results)
gently apply sunscreen with an SPF filter without massaging, to protect the skin from UV radiation (choose sunscreens with approved SPF values, such as mineral filters containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, which are natural and do not cause harmful side effects)

– do not use anti-inflammatory medications, as they may reduce the desired effects of the PRF injections (pain relievers such as Paracetamol or Ultracod are allowed)
take Vitamin D daily!
(typically 8,000 IU per day, based on blood test results)

To achieve maximum effectiveness and long-term results, it is necessary to complete a full PRF treatment course, typically consisting of 3–4 sessions (once a month, every 28 days).

Eat Healthily:

By drinking plenty of water daily (1.5–2L) and maintaining a balanced diet rich in fiber, minerals, proteins, vitamins, and omega-3 fatty acids, you will promote tissue regeneration and overall body healing. It is recommended to include anti-inflammatory foods such as:

Omega-3 fatty acids, which are potent anti-inflammatory agents capable of reducing chronic inflammation and supporting cardiovascular health (found in fatty fish such as salmon, herring, and mackerel).

Ginger and turmeric contain bioactive compounds (gingerol and curcumin) that are powerful anti-inflammatory agents and antioxidants. These herbs are effective in reducing inflammation, especially in muscle and joint pain.

Berries are rich in flavonoids and other antioxidants that help decrease inflammation by protecting cells from damage (e.g., blueberries, strawberries, cranberries).

Green leafy vegetables, especially cruciferous plants, are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that help reduce inflammation and support the body’s ability to combat oxidative stress (e.g., spinach, cabbage, broccoli).
